Long march facing delay as Tahirul Qadri still in home

Lahore: Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) long march, which was to start at 9am today, is facing delay as the movement’s chief Allama Dr Tahirul Qadri has not yet come out of his home.
However, arrangements have been finalised for the march and the participants are gathering outside Dr Qadri’s house.
Special security measures have been taken to protect Dr Qadri from any potential terrorist attack. A bedroom and a toilet have been set up for the TMQ chief in a bomb-proof container.
Dr Qadri is adamant on heading a march towards the Pakistan’s capital Islamabad despite an assurance from the federal government that it would accept his demands.

As many as 3,000 personnel from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Frontier Constabulary and Punjab police were deployed in Islamabad on Saturday as a part of the security arrangements.
