Lady Gaga's Cherub Tattoo

Lady Gaga marked the launch of her "slutty" perfume by getting a tattoo done inside a giant bottle in front of onlookers at a lavish New York event.

The eccentric pop star appeared in a giant scent bottle - a replica of her Fame fragrance bottle - for the launch at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan, wearing a sparkly top, skirt and red wig.

The Bad Romance singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, then stripped down to her lingerie and posed while having the tattoo of a winged cherub done on her neck.

Lady Gaga applied makeup and played on an iPad inside the bottle, where she was joined by four others.

Edith Piaf played in the background, as did David Bowie's Fame and various songs featuring Kanye West.

She got her tattoo - and danced in her seat - as West's latest hit Mercy blasted in the background.

She later made an appearance at Macy's flagship store in New York for a closed meet-and-greet with fans, arriving in a horse-drawn carriage shaped like a bottle of Fame.

Explaining her fragrance, the star said: "Fame is the first ever black eau de parfum.

"So it's black inside the bottle and then, once you spray it, it's clear and it's beautiful and it's exciting to be a part of innovative project with some great people."

When asked about the actual scent, Gaga said: "It's a quite delicious, succulent, slutty, seductive fragrance."

The singer made headlines last year for saying she wanted her perfume to have notes of blood and semen and that it would be suited to "a expensive hooker".

The masquerade black tie museum event featured a few hundred people, mostly dressed with eye masks and headgear.

Celebrity attendees included Yoko Ono, Marc Jacobs, Paris Hilton, Jason Wu and Lindsay Lohan, who arrived late for the event.
