Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are Secretly Engaged

The couple met while shooting 2011 movie The Rum Diary and have enjoyed an on/off romance since Johnny split from his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis.

After a period apart they have reunited and were seen holding hands at a recent Rolling Stones concert. Johnny is said to have realised how much 27-year-old Amber means to him so has taken steps to prove it to her.

“He proposed on her birthday [April 22],” an insider told National Enquirer. “They’re not announcing it until the end of the year, but she and Johnny are now on the hunt for a vintage one-of-a-kind ring.”

Although the couple are thought to have been together for some time, they only recently went public with their romance. One of the reasons is said to be Johnny’s fear of hurting Vanessa, who he romanced for around 14 years and has two children with. Amber is also thought to be mindful of the situation, and wary of being cast as the ‘other woman’.

However, it was Amber’s desire for more commitment from Johnny which made him realise he needed to make some changes.

“She gave him an ultimatum, no woman wants to be someone’s dirty secret. A few months ago she took off to Paris and started dating French model Marie de Villepin. He offered her everything, even marriage, to come back,” the source explained.

“That was exactly what Amber wanted – for the world to know they’re together and for Johnny to put a ring on it. She’s had a crush on him since she was a teenager, so this is a dream come true!”
Hollywood hunk Johnny is rumoured to have quit alcohol in an effort to show Amber how much she means to him. The couple have spent time planning their life together, with speculation they would like to start a family.

“Johnny is really obsessed with Amber – she’s all he ever talks about. He’s like a besotted teenager,” a source previously said.

Imran Khan blames MQM for Killing his Party Leader

KARACHI: Cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has held the chief of Mutthaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) directly responsible for the killing of a senior leader of his party in the city.
"I hold Altaf Hussain directly responsible for the murder as he had openly threatened Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf workers and leaders through public broadcasts," Imran said in a statement from his hospital bed late on Saturday.

The statement came hours after the senior vice-president of the Sindh chapter of Imran Khan's party, Zara Yousuf Shahid was shot dead late at night outside her residence in Defence housing authority phase 4.

A senior police official said they were investigating from two angles whether it was a target killing or a deadly reaction to a robbery attempt.

Imran said MQM leader, Altaf Hussain had been issuing threatening statements against his party leaders and workers since the elections on May 11.

The killing comes one day before re-polling is held at 43 stations on Sunday for the national assembly seat of NA 250 constituency which the MQM has boycotted.

The Election Commission ordered the re-polling following several days of protests by the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and other parties over rigging in the constituency during the May 11 polls.
Imran further held the British government responsible, claiming that the UK had been warned to act against Altaf Hussain following open threats to kill his party workers.

Hussain has lived in London in self exile since 1993. Shortly after the incident, the MQM chief issued a statement of his own where he condemned the murder and demanded that the government immediately arrest the culprits and accord them the most severe punishment as per law.

Police said the motive of the attack on Zara could not be immediately ascertained.
SP Clifton Division Nasir Aftab said that initial findings pointed to a case of a purse snatching gone wrong.

Iraqi man marries two women in one night

Abdul Rahman Nayef al-Obeidi, a 22-year-old Iraqi farmer, fell in love with two women, but instead of choosing between them, he married both in one night in a small village in central Iraq.

The wedding ceremony for Obeidi and two of his cousins, Intidhar, 17, and Suad, 22, was held on April 6 at his family home in Al-Laqlaq village, north of Tikrit.

The ceremony was attended by the families of his two brides, relatives and friends, who were happy and surprised.

Obeidi, the youngest of five sons, said that he informed his parents about his plan to marry his two cousins in one night and they encouraged him, though many of his relatives were against the idea.
"It took me less than one month to make a final decision because the two families are my relatives and I love the two girls," Obeidi said.

The most important step was to persuade the two young women.
Intidhar said: "He told me, 'We will marry, me, you and Suad, in one night, so what do you say?' And I told him it is all right, if you treat us both the same way."

Islam permits men to marry up to four women, but stipulates that the wives must be treated equally.
Suad said she was surprised when Obeidi told her about his idea, but he persuaded her to go along.
Obeidi's older brother Salman played the role of mediator in the negotiations with the two families, and succeeded in making his brother's dream come true.

His father, Nayef Hamid said he feels proud of his son, although he is the only of the five sons to marry two women.

Hamid said that he is ready to support all his sons if they decide to marry twice.
Obeidi's mother, Rasmiya Mohammed too said she supported her son and did not want him to feel sad because he loves the two women.

Commentary on a picture of the married trio posted on Facebook was mixed, with men generally supporting the idea, and women against it.
"This man is a hero. There is no one who has done that before him, and this man should be put in
Guinness Book of World Records," Ali Bassi Abbar wrote.
But Sara Yasser disagreed, writing sarcastically: "Poor guy; he did not want to break one of their hearts. He is really a nice man."

Another woman, Sara Saad, criticised the two new brides, writing that, "Any woman who agrees to such a marriage does not have any sense or dignity."
